Merry Christmas

So once again Christmas is here. Seems like just yesterday I was waking up and opening presents. Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year. Yes your probably thinking only because of the presents right, well no. A lot of it has to do with getting together with family and just having an awesome time. Not to mention the two week CHRISTMAS BREAK THAT WE GET!!! This year on the 20th my familly and I will be going down to my Grandma and Grandpa Howard's for christmas, and then my Grandpa and Grandma Weller are coming up on christmas eve for our christmas eve church service, and then will stay a few days up here. I'm really excited for what this holiday season will bring, and I hope you are too. So that said have a great holiday and a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Senior High Youth Group Lock-In

About three maybe four weeks ago The Senior High Youth Group of South Lansing Christian Church had a lock-in. I know its kind of late to be blogging about it but since I just got a pic I thought, what the heck. It was a total blast. The night consisted of video games, nerf wars, sardines, dodgeball. The whole shabang. Basically to sum it up, it was awesome. So as for the pic, on the left is Kenan Steere(a kid in our youth group), and me on the right. To visit our youth ministers blog click here.

So I'll leave you with some thoughts from this week. I was babysitting my cousins this past weekend and they told me a joke that I really enjoyed. What do you call a bear with no shoes... Bear Foot!!! Yah I know right, I think its hilarious. Well thats it, I know there aren't very many thoughts but that is because I can't think of them. Later!!!

Deer Camp

Well I am sitting here on the couch at my Uncle Jeff's House in Mount Pleasant Michigan getting ready to head for the cabin. I'm physched!!! I look forward to deer camp a little more every year, we get to totally act redneck and there is nobody there to tell us we can't. There is gonna be about eight guys up here at the cabin this weekend, and i'm hoping everyone of em kills a deer. Deer camp consists of a lot of traditions. On Friday night the hunters will go to Jays Sporting Goods to pick up a few last minute things for Saturday. Then we might come back and watch possibly the coolest movie in the world... Eskenaba in Da Moonlight. Yes that one, it's gonna be a total blast. Well I gotta run but just below here is a place to leave comments. Feel free to tell me about your deer camp experience(or just hunting experience).

Grand Ledge Round 2

Tomorrow Grand Ledge goes onto take on Rockford in the second round of the playoffs. It will be a tough one. Rockford is 9 and 1 and they are a big football team. Thats not to say the least about Grand Ledge, we are 10 and 0 and I honestly think we have what it takes to win tomorrow night. I am really excited and interested to see who will come out on top. I have posted a poll on my blog just under the about me section, feel free to vote.

Well Comedy Night is coming up at my church. It is going to be sweet. Check out Chad Cronins Blog for more details.

Happy Halloween

Well once again Halloween is here!!! I'm really excited yet really bummed at the same time. We have a football game tomorrow night that we're marching. The fun thing is that we get to wear costumes, the bummer thing is that I won't be able to Tricker Treating with Ashlee(my girlfriend). I'm pretty bummed cause I wanted to go but I'm excited at the same time to go and march in my costume at the football game. Anyways what are you gonna be for Halloween!!! I am going to be the Burger King!!! My costume is totally awesome, and to top it off my snare drum is going to have a whopper looking drum cover on it. It's going to be sooooooooooo sweet. Well I hope your Halloween goes amazing. Feel free to comment and let me know what your going as.

Ref Tackles Running Back

I recently was watching the highlights on ESPN when they showed a highlight where the referee tackled the USC quarterback midplay. Now me personally after seeing the replay over and over again I was just absolutely amazed. It's hilarious!!! I got to see a little play by play action. Him getting set, the arm shiver, and then just bam. The ref lights up the quarterback midplay. Everybody was saying he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I say he did it on purppose. No doubt. I think because he never made it pro, he just had to make at least one tackle, and tackle he did. Feel free to coment and let me know what you think.

First Deer

Sorry I know its been a while since I have blogged. Just recently I spent this past weekend up north in Claire Michigan. This past weekend was the youth deer hunt in Michigan. I had hunted on Saturday morning, I saw three doe but nothing was close enough to shoot at. That evening I went out and sat in the deer blind, I hadn't seen anything until right about 5:30 p.m. What looked at the time to be a doe was just walking a row of beans, just eating and chilling out. I got my gun up, I was shaking so bad. I had the gun up and down from my shoulder at least three times before I was still enough to shoot. Finally I shot, I had drilled him right through the vitals he ran about 20 yards and then went into some brush. He was done for. I had killed my first deer, and as it turned out it wasn't a doe, it was a buttonbuck. He turned out to be a little smaller than he looked from my blind. It was a 200 yard shot with an 8mm rifle, and for all you hunters out there they all look bigger through the scope. All in all I am and was pretty excited, it was my first deer, and it turned out just the way I wanted to.

Back From the Northmen

This past week I spent my time eating, burping, farting, playing cards etc... I was at the Northmen. I had a total blast while I was there. For those of you who don't know what Northmen is, let me tell you. It is a christian camping trip for men and boys (no girls!!!). It really is a great trip and provides a good chance to just get away from all the home stuff. I had a blast and am ready to go back.

Lake Liki Lake Liki Liki Lake James

This past week I was at Lake James Christian Assembly enjoying the senior high week. I had and awesome time, and I would tell you more but why do it when my Dad already does. This week for missions a guy named Dan Smith from Momentum Christian Church came and talked to us. For those of you who don't know who that is he wrote the parody of Baby Got Back called Baby Got Book. He was awesome, he was funny and he was a white guy who could rap. It was awesome. He made a song called I Love Lake James. He made a music video that involved all of us campers. I am in it so when it comes up on youtube i'll post it. So here is the video of his Baby Got Book.

Back From the Border

Early Sunday morning my Dad and I returned from Tecate, Mexico. While we were there we had the chance to do lots of things in which were beneficial to the mission. It was my first mission trip, and I really enjoyed it. We built a roof on a building that is gonna be used for church classrooms, we also cleaned up an extensive amount of trash. Keep checking back to my blog as I will be posting pictures of the trip.

Well the day is almost here, the day that we leave for Mexico. We leave on saturday to go to the airport, then we will fly out on Sunday. We will return the following saturday. I am so pumped about the trip, we will be in Tecate and will be hosting VBS as well as building a church. This is my first trip out of the country, and I am really excited.

The Loop Hole

My Dad is in the sermon series right now called Tru Identity. A couple of weeks ago he preached on Tru Love, and how you should love one another. Whether it is your brother or sister, or you brothers and sisters in christ. There are a couple of verses that correspond with what God says about that. One is "He who loves God yet hates his brother, then he is a liar." The second verse says that you should not call your brother an idiot and should not call your sister stupid. I had a thought. What if you call your brother stupid and your sister an idiot. Would that be considered a tiny little loop hole around the sin. I do not think so. I think that it is a sin regardless. In my opinion regardless what you call your brother or sister it is still a sin. I think God was simply trying to explain that our love towards our siblings has great importance. Although I get mad at them, and even call them names sometimes, I still love them.

Halo

As you know from a previous blog, my brother and I got an xbox. Well we have bought Halo I and Halo II. We have started a co-op campaign, and it is totally awesome. The game adds a little bit of old school fighting, with some new school equipment and weapons. As you can imagine I cannot wait to get home from school, so I can play Halo. I am very impressed with this series of games. It gets a thumbs up.

End Of School.....Yay!!!

As you probably know the school year is beginning to wind down, end of the year tests and exams are being taken. As the year winds down it made me think a little bit. It reminded me of how we've been in Grand Ledge for almost a year. I can remember back in May when my family was just looking into Grand Ledge, and then I remember the day we registered at Grand Ledge. Then finally my first day at Grand Ledge High School. I have to say, the year has gone good for me. Right at the start of the year I was the stranger, the one with no friends. As the year progressed I began to come out of my shell, I met some new friends, got really involved with the band. Now as the year is coming to an end, I can look back and say WOW!!! What a great year I had in Grand Ledge Michigan. Hopefully the next years will be just as good or even better than this one.

Xbox

This past week I received an Xbox from my friend Chris Adleman. We made a little wager for it, my brother explains it better on his blog. I have to say, I am very impressed with Microsoft. There are so many things you can do with an Xbox that you cannot do with a Playstation. Although Playstation is good, I think I like Microsoft's Xbox better. Here are some reasons why, it has a built in hard drive so I don't have to worry about buying memory cards. Second, you can copy a music CD to your hard drive allowing you to access the music any time you wish. Third is Xbox Live. I have looked into Xbox Live and am thinking trying it out. It is actually pretty sweet, you can play against others via internet, as well as download demos and other sweet stuff. Overall I am quite impressed with the Xbox.

Sping Time

Well spring is here. It is time to mow, and weed eat, and all that good stuff us men like to do. I had a lilttle lawn mowing buisiness down in Butler. It was quite cool actually. I made quite a bit of pocket money. I love spring. You get to ride the bike, swim, no school. I mean everything you could want in a single season.

From Russia With Love

A while ago my brother Jonah bought a James Bond game, From Russia With Love. This game is by far the best Bond game I have ever played. I have beaten the game twice, it just never gets old. In this game Bond is played by Sean Connery. The game is in the 3rd person so it is easier to play, and see what is happening. Now all they have to do is make another one that's just as good.

Cop Goes Off on Skateboarder

The other day my Dad showed me this video the other day, of a policemen going off on a skateboarder. As you can see in this video the policemen is unleashing on this kid, all because he was riding his skateboarder. The policemen gets mad because he is repeatedly backtalked to and called a dude by the skateboarder. I think the boy was wrong to talk back to his elder, in this case the policemen. I also think that the policemen resorted to force and anger too soon. He grabs the kid once and continues to scream at him. Maybe this policemen just had a bad day or he has anger issues, one of the two. Sometimes we, even myself do the same thing. We resort to force and anger because we had a bad day, or maybe were stressed. We don't even stop to think the situation over. In this situation I don't even think a different scenario crossed his mind. After seeing this, I hope the next time you are in a anger situation you stop and think about it before resorting to shouting in anger.

Spring Finally

Its beautiful today, 60 degrees man its b-e-a-utiful. Its about time for spring, all this snow started to get annoying. It's time to wip out those shorts and t-shirts because hopefully its about to get really nice out.

Call of Duty 3

For the past few weeks I have been playing the game Call of Duty 3. I love this game. Its all the action you could want packed into one little video game. The missions are so cool, in fact this will be my second time beating the game. The developers of all the Call of Duty games deserve a thumbs up.

I am Legend

Last night me, Dad, and Jonah rented the new release movie I Am Legend. The movie was full of action and suspense which I enjoyed. Although towards the end when Will Smith's house is being overrun by dark seekers, he runs down to the basement with the two others. He could have gotten in the hole and waited it out with them. Instead he naded himself with the other dark seekers. I thought the bad ending was horrible. Otherwise it was really good.

Fending For Ourselves

So for the next two weeks my Mom and Sister will be in Haiti. They left Friday afternoon and arrived safely in Haiti on Saturday morning. So it has been just me, Dad, and Jonah. We have had some total man time. We belched, farted, watched movies, stayed up late that sort of thing. Although we miss Mom and Abby, the man time has been relaxing and fun. Here is a picture of my Mom and Abby in Haiti.

March Madness

The NCAA basketball tournament has started. I don't generally follow college basketball that much, but I'm enjoying the first round games. We even watched the State Game in class today. I have UCLA and G-Town going to the finals. It will be interesting to see how the tournament plays out.

PS2 Problems Gone

The other day my Dad found this repair service on ebay. I was able to send in my PS2, and could would send me a refurbished one for just 50 dollars. It was pretty easy. Now the only thing I have to worry about is not breaking it again.

Spanish Class... Funny

So yesterday during Spanish we had a sub. We were told by the regular teacher that we were to watch the Incredibles in Spanish. Unfortunately she was unable to get the video to Spanish... Bummer!!! Of course everyone in the class knew how to do it, but obviously not one hand in the class went up... Duh!!! So naturally we had to watch the movie in English instead of in boring old Spanish. Lets just say that Spanish that day was extra fun.

The Secret Garden

Tonight the Grand Ledge High School Drama Program is introducing the play called the Secret Garden. My sister is in the chorus and will be acting as a dead person. COOL!!! I have never seen let alone heard of this play and am anxious to see what it is about.

Super Smash Brothers Brawl

Today I had the privelage of playing Super Smash Brothers Brawl with the youth minister at my church. I have to say that I am impressed with the game. They were able to add a little bit of today with a little bit of old school (not that I would know anything about the old school video games). The one thing you look for in a game is that it is fun but it is challenging as well, and I think that Nintendo fully acheived that.

Metroid Prime

Last night a friend of mine came over. His name is Jeremy. He came over and watched tv, played nerf, and spent hours playing the game called Metroid Prime. It was fun at first because I was beating Jonah, but then Jeremy stepped and I got creamed. All in all a good night.

Just Plain Fun

Tonight we went over to my Uncle Fred's house. He lives on a lake so we went over to ride his quad and sled on the lake. Lets just say it was a total blast. My Brother, Dad, and I all got thrown off the sled at least three times. Then we took the sled off and messed around on the quad. We fish tailed and did donuts, it was totally awesome.

Tonight is the BIGGEST Concert Band Performances of the entire year. It is called Festival and will be held at the Grand Ledge High School Auditorium. I am pumped although I had to miss a huge church event to go. All kinds of bands will be in this thing. The 7th and 8th Grade Hayes and Beagle Bands, the Wind Symphony, Symphony, Concert Band, as well as bands from all over will come to be judged on their performance. I have yet to be involved in something like this so hopefully it we be SWEET!!!???

;) ;(

Today was one of those days, the kind where you miss your old school. Every once in a while ill have a day where I just think what am I doing here. Or am I supposed to be here at Grand Ledge Public Schools. It's hard to leave a place you have come to know and love, as well as the people you knew. But the simple fact of the matter is that God brought our family here for a reason. I belive that he brought us here so we could make a difference in this Church and so we could make a difference in this town. And although somedays it may seem to stink, there are days where you can sit back and say I'm glad I'm here.

This weekend Abby, Jonah, and Myself ventured down back to Butler to hang out out with Grandma and Grandpa. We've had a total blast. Yesterday we went bowlling and that was a ton of fun(I did horrible). Its not to often that we get to see since we moved up to Grand Ledge. Hopefully we can find time to come down again, and again, and again, and so on and so forth.

No School Woohoo!!!

After receiving about 7 inches of snow at about 9 o'clock my sister turned on the TV and saw that Grand Ledge Public Schools were closed. Booyah!!!

More Snow

As you can imagine I am blogging about more snow. Today as you read before we were let out of school early because of the snow. It is now 7 o'clock and it has pretty much stopped snowing. All in all we received ohh about 6 inches I think. Thats a lot of snow. Hopefully from the snow we got we will not have school tomorrow or at least a two hour delay.

Movie Night

Today me and the rest of the students at Grand Ledge High School were let out early because of the snow. So tonight my Dad, sister, and brother at pizza, popcorn, and watched movies. One of the Movies we watched was The Bourne Ultimatum. It is a movie about a man named Jason Bourne. He is a man who is looking to avenge the people that brainwashed him. To do this he must go under the radar to find out who did it and then take them out.

NO SCHOOL

Today once again we had no school. I am enjoying it to the full(duh), and as you can imagine it involved sleeping in, watching movies, and you know blogging. So for all of you who are brave enough to venture out into the nasty weather I have some advice. Don't wreck!!!

Super Bowl Time

This Sunday is Super Bowl XLII. Personally I don't care, and thats because Manning and the Colts are not in it. Even though the Colts are not in the Super Bowl I think I could enjoy watching the Patriots lose to the Giants. So this Sunday when you are watching the Superbowl hopefully you will be wise and root for the Giants.

Monday, January 28, 2008

Movie Time

I enjoyed 3 movies the other night with my Dad and Brother. They were Shooter, 3:10 to Yuma, and the Simpsons Movie. I thought these movies were exceptional, this being my first time seeing them. I just can't wait to see what they come out with next.

Lock In

This past week I went to a lock in at my Church. I was totally awesome. It went from 9:30 to 7:30. We had Nerf wars, played video games, and played splatball. It was so much fun and can't wait to do it again.

Electronics

Last night me and a buddy were playing Guitar Hero III. During one of the songs my dog just happenned to be walking by when.... Crash!!! My playstation hit the floor. I thought ohhh no, its broken. Sure enough it was. It kept saying disk read error. This is not the first time this has happenned. The first time I knocked it of my dresser on accident. So I sent it in and got it fixed, problem solved. Until now. So now I have one of two choices. Do I pay the $75 to fix it or do I just buy a new one. Bummer........

Ouch.....

I recieved this picture from my Dad the other day and all I could say was OUCH!!! In case you don't know what this is. It is a whitetail buck who failed in his attempt to jump this fence. Now if I am him, the next i'm walking around(well in his case there wont be a next time). Enjoy!!!

A Good New Years

For New Years we went up to Shepherd MI. We went to hang out with our good friends the Grahams. This is kind of an annual thing. Usually they would come down to Indiana and stay a couple of days, but this year was different. We went up Sunday evening and left Tuesday evening. It was a total blast. We played video games, watched movies, and even messed around on their snowmobile. It was a lot of fun, and I can't wait to do it again. If you are reading this, I just want to say that I hope your New Years was as good as mine.
