Happy New Year
New Years is one of my favorite holidays. Don't ask me why, it is just simply a cool holiday. You get to stay up late to watch the ball, you get to spend time with family, and you even get to wake up the people that have already went to bed. New Years is a great time of the year, and I hope you enjoy yours.

Writing To Santa
The other day during my Dad's sermon he told a joke that I especially liked. Here goes.
It was around Christmas time, and a little boy sat down to write a letter to God to ask him about Christmas. He knew that God could bless them and not Santa so he sat down and began his letter:
"Dear God: This year I have been good for six months..."
He stopped, looked at the "six months." A moment later he threw it out and started a new one:
"Dear God: This year I have been good for three months..." He stopped again and stared into the distance for a moment, then threw away the letter and started a new one:
"Dear God: This year I have been good for two weeks..." The boy stopped. He had thought of something which led him to throw away the letter.
The boy sat there and thought for a while. Then he went downstairs to where the nativity was set up. Being very careful he picked up Mary and carefully slipped her into his pocket and went back upstairs to start his final letter:
"Dear God: If you ever want to see you mother again..."
It was a funny joke and I enjoyed it, hopefully you did to. Check out my Dad's blog.

I Love Winter
It is the beginning of December and it has begun to get really cold outside. I especially love winter because of the snow. Snow has so many uses, like throwing snowballs at your sister, or make a snowman, and even if your real daring you can even eat it(not the yellow of course). But the real reason why I love the snow is because it makes everything God has made even more beautiful. People say they hate winter because it is cold and they don't want to shovel the snow, but it's all part of the experience. In December people are always running around getting presents, decorations, and those last minute items, and we never really stop to see the beauty of what God has created. So if you ever find yourself bored and wondering what to do, just take a look outside so you can witness what God has created.

First Band Concert With the New Band
Tonight is my first band concert with the new Grand Ledge Band. I am totally pumped. It is going to be a lot of fun. I'm interested to see how the concert turns out. We will be playing Christmas songs of every kind fast ones, slow ones, and lots more. We will even be combining with the 7th grade Beagle band in an attempt to play a peace called Christmas Pop Sing-A-Long.
Hopefully the concert goes really well.

The Fun Is Over
Last night we returned from deer camp. It was exactly like I described it. We ate venison and slept. We went hunting every day morning and night. It was a lot of fun getting to hang out with my uncle Jeff and all the rest of the gang. I hunting by myself most of the time, but yesterday I went hunting with my dad and at night and my cousin in the morning. It was a blast. Although deer camp is over, the rest of the season is not. Which means I still have a chance.

Deer Camp
This next week me, my Dad, and my brother will be taking a trip up to Farwell Michigan. We will be there Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. In case ya'll were confused about the title{Deer Camp} I will elaborate on it a little. Opening morning is Thursday, so on Wednesday night all three of us will venture up to what we call Deer Camp. We will be hunting all three of those days in little deer blinds which are spread throughout my grandpa's land. Basically it is redneck paradise. We will eat beans, hot dogs, steak, venison, pickled bologna, cheese, jerky... It is a total blast. We enjoy each others company while we fart and burp without saying excuse me. The real party does not begin though until my Uncle Jeff arives. Just about each year he shoots a deer, which is no surprise. In fact a couple of years ago he predicted he would shoot a deer at 8:30 on opening morning. Guess what, he shot a deer at 8:30, I myself was amazed. Getting to go up north is something I look forward to each year, hopefully we will all end up with full freezers.

Not Ready
Last night me and my Dad went hunting. We left the house at about three and got in our stands at about four fifteen. Our stand were about five hundred yards away, so he wasn't able to see what I was seeing. About twenty minutes after sitting in my stand I heard some movement behind me. I turned around to look, and there was a deer no more than twenty five yards behind my stand and she was walking parallel from my stand at about fifteen yards. Needless to say I did not have my bow ready so I had to reach behind me to get my bow. By then time I had my bow in my hand she was stopped broadside about fifteen yards away. I wasn't ready, I was so frustrated. If I would have had my bow ready we would have been dragging my deer out of the woods last night. I learned a lesson from this deer hunt, have your bow ready to go as soon as you are in your stand.

Hanging Out With My Friends
This past weekend I went over to my friends house and hung out all afternoon, it was a ton of fun. We rode around on his quad and his dirtbike, we even torched some really big catterpillar(it was really weird). It's amazing how much you miss your friends when you move and it is so cool to be able to go back and see your friends and to see what you've missed out on.

Oops They Did It Again
Ye old Cubbies finally made it to the playoffs this year, quite honestly I was blown away. Anyhow I was really excited to get to see the Cub's in the playoffs once again. But I was soon disappointed, to my surprise they got swept by the D-Backs in the first round of the playoffs. I just don't know it seems like every time they get to the playoffs some how they manage to mess it all up. Well there's always next year, and the next, and the next. Well never mind!

Ahh, The Great Outdoors
Tonight me and my Dad went deer hunting. This weekend was the youth hunt, so me and my Dad were able to hunt together. We saw a ton of deer but nothing was shootable. There was a really big doe that came about 40 yards from my deer blind, but it had us busted before it even got there. We are going back out tomorrow to see if we can shoot one, so we'll see.

Oh My Aching Body
I just got home from band practice and boy do I ache, for three hours we marched back and forth, back and forth. I got quite a workout. I guess it makes sense though, our first band performance is on Friday and if we want to look good this is what its going to take. I'm really pumped at this point, I think it is going to be awesome, I guess we'll find out on Friday.
Back to the Normal Routine
It is Wednesday and we already into the second week of school. I'm starting to get it, wake up, go to school, then come home and take a big long nap. Well thats kind of what happens. Actually what happens is I don't take a nap I just come home and work on my homework, then I take a nap. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the year turns out.

A Walk Through Hell
Last night I went to the youth group kickoff, and towards the end I participated in a thing called a walk through hell. As I walked through the woods and listened to the cries of the people that were pretending to be in hell, I began to think what if those people were my friends. It was really an eye opener for me, I realized that if I didn't do something to show the way for the non-Christians then what have I accomplished? It's simple I haven's accomplished anything, and that is why as Christians we need to do be an example. Just as it says in 1 Timothy 4:12 we are to set an example in speech, life, love, faith, and in purity.
Every day we are called to be an example because everybody is constantly watching you. People see how you act and how you talk and that is how people decide how they should be acting and how they should be speaking. God has called us to be an example for a reason and that is because he wants us to bring people to Christ and that is what we should do.

Hanging Out With My Youth Minister James Pahl
I got to the church for youth group and out walked James Pahl my youth minister. We ended up to the church an hour early so we sat in the fireside lounge and talked and blogged. It was pretty fun. In fact thats why I am blogging right now. Later we are going to play wii and hang out. He is pretty cool and hanging out was pretty cool.
Back to School
On Monday I will begin my back to school adventure. I'm a little nervous because it is my first year of high school, and it doesn't help that it is a new school. I am going to be in Geometry, biology, and all those other cool classes. I enjoyed my long lazy summer and now that I have to go back to school just makes me sad. Just kidding, it will be a good year.

Band Camp Again
This past week I was at Kimball Camp in Reading Michigan for Band Camp. Last year I participated in Band Camp with my old band at Eastside Jr. Sr. High School. This year I went with my new school Grand Ledge. My past experiences at Band Camp have kind of been relaxed ones. This year was very different. Lets just say I received a reality check. It was much different, you worked longer, harder, and you did over and again until it was right. That is what made it much different from my old school. Going into band camp I was a little nervous because of the things I heard about my new band director Mr. Kaufman. I had heard that he was really mean and he was no fun to be around. My band director in fact this week did work us to the bone, but as the week ended I had gained an immense amount of respect for him and having him as my band director just made me wish he wasn't leaving. In spite of all the rain and nasty weather I had a lot of fun.

Gone Golfing
Today I got the chance to play in the Great Lakes Christian College Golf Benefit with my Dad. I had a great time. I enjoy golfing with my Dad and it is something I plan on doing for the rest of my life. After we got done golfing there was a dinner at the college. So we went and ate, and after we got done eating there was raffle drawings. The deal was if your number is picked you can pick from free rounds of golf to golf apparel. So my number was drawn I went up not and picked a prize. Not knowing that I could pick free rounds of golf I just walked up grabbed a hat and walked off. What I didn't know is that I missed out on a good deal. I could have golfed for free at a course where it would that my Dad would have spent seventy dollars on. Long story short pay attention next time. For the most part it was a fun day.

Home Again
We just recently returned from Northmen at about eleven thirty Thursday night and I was glad to be back in my bed. I really enjoyed Northmen. Once again we went to the sessions and I have to say although I have a hard time paying attention during the sermons I really enjoyed Ron Otto's sermon, it was by far the best that I had heard. Northmen is an experience that I will never forget and I plan on going back next year.

Roughing It
So here I am at Houghton Lake getting ready to go to the Northmen. One of my dad's friends has a Cabin up in Houghton Lake. It is a tradition for me and my dad and my brother go up to Northmen on Sunday but this year we went up on Tuesday. So while all of you are enjoying your hot showers and your cozy beds we will be sleeping on cots in a tent.

Saying Goodbyes
Going into Sunday morning I new it was going to be tough, and I was right it was tough. The hardest part was knowing that it would be the last time I saw my friends for a while. During my Dad's sermon he started to get choked up and thats when I lost it. I wont ever forget the times I had with my church family in Butler Indiana. It was hard saying goodbye but I know the goodbye wont last forever.

Does Bonds Deserve to Be In the Hall of Fame?
I got home from camp on Friday and I saw the paper on the Island. It said that Bonds hit two more homers and was two away from Hank Aaron's record and I thought to myself. Does Bonds deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. In my opinion I don't think he deserves to. If you noticed his size when he first started playing and then four years later it was clear that he was using performance enhancing steroids. Now it might be just me but I thought he was. So to me a spot in the hall of fame with his name on it is just dumb. What you will notice here in this picture is what happened to Barry Bonds after steroids.
I Have Decided To Be a U of M Fan
My New Marching Band
When we move in a week I will be joining the Grand Ledge Marching Band. It is a big band and it is a phenomenal band. My Mom told me that they went to the White House to perform, I thought that was pretty cool. I am going to try to do as well as I can this year and have a good time.

My Brothers From Another Mother
I was at camp this week and was hanging out with my friends, and I realized, I'm going to be gone in a week. I am talking about Ryan Steere, Jordan Harger, and Aaron Kaufman. These are my three best friends and it just sickened me to know that after years of friendships it would all slip away in two months. I wont ever forget the times I had with Remis, Skittles, and Scug and I will miss them a ton.
My Big Move
Wierd Things To Do With Your Face
I was at camp this week and my dorm did this weird thing with their face. And the deal is you squeeze your chin really hard for about two minutes then immediately after you let go, flick your chin about ten or eleven times. What it does is it gives you a bruise.
My Awesome Week of Camp
I went to camp this week and had an awesome time.
Last night something happened that was hilarious. We were messing with a water bottle, and what you do with it is you twist the cap on really tight, then you twist the bottle so that it creates a large amount of compressed air. Finally what you do is untwist the cap so the cap flies off with a good amount of force. So we were messing around and out of the blue one of my friends named Jon Watson was smoked in the head with a bottle cap. It was absolutely hilarious.
